MY PLANS FOR THE SUMMER

Memorial Day is fast approaching, which means summer is just around the corner. In anticipation of the new season, I thought I’d share what I have planned for the next few months to keep you informed and to help me stick to my agenda.

For many, summer means shortened work weeks and long vacations, but the opposite is true for me. The summer season is when my work schedule becomes more stringent, making long getaways less feasible. I typically stay in New York and if I’m lucky I’ll squeeze in one or two short international trips.

This year, I’m switching things up. My plan is to take several quick trips to different cities around the country and spend a few weekends enjoying our new lake house. Since much of my travel takes place overseas, I often overlook cities that are closer to home. I plan to rectify that this summer by staying “local” and enjoying all the U.S. has to offer. So far, my wish list of domestic destinations includes:

Seattle

The Grand Canyon

Boston

Mount Rushmore

Philadelphia

I figured this is the perfect time to explore some of the places I have always wanted to visit but haven’t gotten around to yet. Our country has so much beauty as I discovered in San Diego and Alaska and I aim to find more of it! I’ll be sharing highlights of what to see and do in each location as well as little anecdotes along the way. So stay tuned to see where I end up! Happy summer to all and as always, happy wending!
